The Booster modules – Bearing Unit, Dilution Rotor, UTwist Basket, and DRUM 400 Rotor – were created to enhance any of four critical components in a screening system. Any one, or all, of these upgrades can be easily installed in a screen as needed, regardless of the original equipment manufacturer.

Bearing Unit Booster

This upgrade dramatically increases the operating life of the bearing unit and reduces maintenance costs. It can be installed on most common screen makes and models because every unit is customized to fit into the particular screen and is specifically designed for high production rates, high tip speed, high motor load, and high temperatures.

Dilution Rotor Booster

The Dilution upgrade reduces reject thickening and protects the rotor interior from contaminants. This solution minimizes fiber losses, increases yield, and reduces maintenance costs.

This patented upgrade is available for most common outflow screens and is designed to resolve two major challenges:

  • Critical thickening
  • Bird's-nest build up around the rotor shaft

Screen Basket Booster

The screen basket features the Bar-Tec UTwist basket design, the first and only slotted screen basket that allows adjustment of the profile height from feed to the reject end of the basket without affecting the slot width.

With the ability to adjust the profile height a perfect balance between screening efficiency, capacity, and runnability and can be achieved in different applications realizing the full potential of a screen.

A low profile provides high screening efficiency but reduces capacity, while a higher profile creates more turbulence increasing the capacity but reducing dirt removal efficiency.

With the UTwist solution, there is no need to compromise between efficiency and runnability.

Rotor Booster

The screen rotor upgrade includes a closed (drum) rotor with a hydrodynamic foil design for effective pulp fluidization and decreased power consumption. The streamlined foil shape provides minimal flow restriction and allows operating at higher consistencies.

The optimized pressure zone provides effective flow distribution over the cylinder surface and therefore reduces energy consumption.

The strong suction zone reduces the thickening effect, keeps the basket clean, and improves runnability.

The ANDRITZ Drum 400 Dolphin rotor provided improvements to hundreds of installations around the world.
